AAA screening

AAA check. Abdominal aortic aneurysms. If you're a man aged 65+ don't ignore your invite for your free 10 minute AAA check.

The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of the lifesaving AAA screening programme and encourage eligible people to come forward for screening when invited by the NHS.

AAA screening can help find an abdominal aortic aneurysm early. This means it can be monitored and treated, if needed, so it’s less likely to burst (rupture), which can be life threatening.

All men living in England are invited for abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening the year they turn 65.

This campaign was developed by NHS England – North West and has been localised for Greater Manchester. It is based on research and insight with the target audience (men over 65 and their friends and family).

Target audience: The primary audience is males 65+. The secondary audience is friends, family and key influencers of the primary audience.
