Don’t miss our Greater Manchester leaders at NHS ConfedExpo 2025

Less than a week to go until NHS ConfedExpo at Manchester Central. Taking place over the 11 and 12 June 2025, this conference is dedicated to driving innovation and improving care.

Many leaders from our Greater Manchester Integrated Care Partnership are delivering sessions over the two days. We’ve pulled together a list of all the sessions so you don’t miss out on any Greater Manchester highlights.

NHS Greater Manchester

A highlight for us will be Claire Igoe and Jon Myint from NHS Greater Manchester hosting a breakfast walk and talk session on the second day at 8am. This session went down a storm last year and we hope you can join them.

Sir Richard Leese, our Chair will also be hosting a session on integrated care partnerships being the answer to the wider determinants of health.

Mike Barker our Director of Health and Care Integration in Oldham locality will also be delivering a session about networking for place leaders and how to fuel change.

11th June 2025

  • 12noon, “Work smarter not harder: cancer care pathway mapping to drive more effective service redesign” will be facilitated by Claire Goldrick, Pathway Manager for Breast, Neuro-oncology and Research – Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance.
  • 12.30pm, “Breaking barriers together: a cross-system approach to delivering impact”, Tracey Vell MBE, Chief Officer – Greater Manchester Primary Care Provider Board will be a panellist.
  • 3pm, “Leadership in action: from sickness to prevention”, Tracey Vell MBE, Chief Officer – Greater Manchester Primary Care Provider Board will be a panellist.
  • 3pm, “Implement, embed, sustain: integrating digital technologies for service delivery in the NHS”, John Sainsbury, Innovation Manager – NHS Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust will be a panellist.

12th June 2025

  • 8am, “Breakfast walk and talk: climate change, nature and health”, this session will be hosted by Claire Igoe, Associate Director of Sustainability and Jon Myint, Programme Manager at NHS Greater Manchester.
  • 8.30am, “Cancer: Project Zero – enabling a world-leading National Cancer Plan”, Lisa Galligan-Dawson, Director of Performance – Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance will be a panellist.
  • 12noon, “Networking for place leaders: fuelling the engine room for change”, will be led by Mike Barker, Deputy Chief Executive, Oldham Council; Director of Health and Care Integration (Oldham), NHS Greater Manchester – Oldham Council & NHS Greater Manchester.
  • 2.30pm, “Delivering change: lessons from reforming public services” will be led by Eve Holt, Head of Policy and Implementation – Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
  • 2.45pm, “How integrated care systems can use evidence to address inequalities in cancer outcomes”, will be led by Alison Jones, Director of Cancer Commissioning and Early Diagnosis – NHS Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance.
  • 3pm, “Integrated care partnerships: the NHS’s answer to the wider determinants of health”, will be led by Sir Richard Leese, Chair of NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board and Co-Chair of the Greater Manchester Integrated Care Partnership.
  • 3pm, “How can we fix financial flows to incentivise care closer to home”, will be led by Edna Robinson, Exec Chair – Greater Manchester Alternative Provider Collaborative.
  • 3.15pm, “Secure Data Environment: transforming health planning and research in Greater Manchester”, a number of panellist are from our Greater Manchester system, Saima Arif, Research Fellow – University of Manchester, Zharain Bawa, Greater Manchester Secure Data Environment Product Director – Health Innovation Manchester and Gareth Thomas, Digital Innovation Director – Health Innovation Manchester and NHS Greater Manchester.
