Stockport Council’s website has lots of information to help you with equipment, adaptions and support dealing with hearing loss.
Their hearing loss service can:
- provide equipment for your home. For example, a loud flashing device which can alert you that some is calling you on your landline phone, or that someone is at your door
- demonstrate and provide a television loop system so that you can hear the television more easily
- provide specialist equipment to alert for baby monitoring and carer needs
- provide advice and information about managing your hearing loss
- provide advice and information regarding fire safety with hearing loss. This includes making a referral to the Greater Manchester Fire Service
