Patients can be referred to SDEC treatment through different routes, including:
- Following streaming or triage in emergency departments (EDs)
- Direct referral from GPs
- Direct transfer from ambulance services
- GP to referrals are made via switchboard, asking for the medical referral/advice bleep.
Located on Ward 9, on the first floor above the Emergency Department and close to the main entrance of the hospital at Fairfield General. Open 8am until midnight, 7 days a week. A frailty service is also available 8am – 8pm Monday to Friday.
