Vaccinations

There are some things you can do to help you and your family to stay well. This includes getting any vaccinations (immunisations) that you are eligible for.

Some illnesses can make some people very unwell and result in serious problems that may need hospital care. They can even be life threatening.

Getting vaccinated is the most effective way to protect yourself and your family against serious illness.

All NHS vaccines have been rigorously tested.

Vaccines help to protect you and your family from many serious illnesses.

Getting vaccinated also protects those around you too!

It makes less likely you will pass something on to someone who could become very unwell. This includes babies too young to be vaccinated and those who are too ill to be vaccinated

Vaccines may be recommended:

  • For people of certain ages – from babies to older adults
  • For people with certain health conditions to protect them from becoming very unwell
  • During pregnancy to protect you and your baby
  • All year round or at certain times of the year, such as during winter to protect you during the colder months
  • Travelling to certain countries

Check what vaccinations you and your family are eligible for and how to get them on the NHS website.
