  1. NHS Greater Manchester (NHS GM) follow the national NHS England (NHSE) Talking Therapies (previously referred to as IAPT) guidance in commissioning services NHS England » NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression manual and subsequent Positive Practice Guides.

This does NOT differentiate specific services to be commissioned to treat those with eating disorders related to overweight and obesity such as, but not limited to, binge eating/emotional eating/disordered eating/other eating disorder. Therefore, we do not expect commissioned services to exercise any specific inclusion/exclusion criteria, provide specific treatments and from any specialist providers.

We do commission a full range of specialist eating disorder community mental health services from Greater Manchester Mental Health  NHS Foundation Trust and Cheshire and Wirral Partnership  NHS Foundation Trust (working with BEAT Eating Disorders and other VCSE organisations) across our 10 localities in line with NICE and other Royal Colleges Best Practice Guidance NHS commissioning » All-age eating disorders.
