I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information.
Please may you provide me with data on the number of people who have had their funding for NHS Continuing Healthcare withdrawn.
I would like the data broken down for the most recent five years, with a year-end date of 5 April or whichever year-end is most convenient.
If this cannot be provided, I would like the annual data for the last three years or, failing that, the most recent two years,

I write in response to your Freedom of Information request which was received by NHS Greater Manchester on Friday 25 April 2025.
To ensure that we provide you with the correct information, I would be grateful if you could please confirm exactly what it is you mean by:
I would like to explain that CHC funding can cease for a variety of reasons for example, if the person has passed, therefore please can you provide more detail about what you mean by “withdrawn”, does this mean people in receipt of, and reviewed as, no longer eligible?
I would be grateful if you could respond to us as soon as possible, so that we are able to action your request and provide the information you seek.

Thank you, for clarity, I would like to know the number of people who’ve been deemed no longer eligible for funding after being reassessed. Let me know if you need any more information.
NHS Greater Manchester consists of the following 10 Greater Manchester Localities: Bolton, Bury, Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale, Manchester, Oldham, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, and Wigan (former Clinical Commissioning Groups), who currently all have their own processes/systems for recording their Continuing Healthcare (CHC) activity.
