  1. Do you have a document detailing the pathway for stress urinary incontinence? I’d be interested to know where a patient is first directed after presenting to a GP. And how continence services, pelvic floor physios, Urology, Gynae and Urogynae connect.
  2. Is it possible to get a ballpark idea of the waiting lists for;
    1. Pelvic floor physios
    2. Urology
    3. Gynae
    4. Urogynae
    5. Continence services
  1. Could you please share a contact for the ICB Pharmacist?
  2. Could you please share the formulary position on vaginal devices for stress urinary incontinence? Are any devices on formulary? Are any devices mentioned in any way, within formulary documents?

  1. NHS Greater Manchester (NHS GM) does not have a document detailing the pathway for stress urinary incontinence; however, services and guidance is available via the NHS Foundation Trust acute provider organisations. Therefore, it will be necessary for you to direct your request to the Trusts for the information you seek. 1. Kenny Li, Chief Pharmacist

For any medicines-related queries, please contact the NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board (ICB) using the general inbox: gm.icp@nhs.net (please mark for the attention of the Medicines Optimisation Team in the subject field).

  1. There are currently no intravaginal or intraurethral devices for the treatment of SUI listed in the GM Joint Formulary, nor are they mentioned in supporting formulary documents.

This is consistent with NICE NG123, which advises:

“Do not use intravaginal and intraurethral devices for the routine management of urinary incontinence in women. Do not advise women to consider such devices other than for occasional use when necessary to prevent leakage, for example during physical exercise.”
