Following on from my last request (1153/2025) where you responded:
NHS GM advice on prescribing CGM in line with NICE guidance will be considered by the Clinical Effectiveness and Governance Sub-committee on 26 March 2025. Following this, confirmation will be sought from NHS GM executives and then Greater Manchester Medicine Management Group guidance will be updated as required.
I write to ask if this has now been approved, if not when is this expected and if it has been approved can you please provide a copy of this guidance as my GP will not consider without approved guidance?
The inequalities this is causing are frustrating – other areas have this policy in place apart from Greater Manchester.
CGM prescribing advice has been considered by the Clinical Effectiveness and Governance Sub-committee. Current NHS reforms have delayed the consideration of this matter by the NHS GM Executive Committee and patients’ GPs with queries are asked to contact the ICB directly for guidance in the meantime.
Should you wish to discuss this further or require any assistance or advice please contact the NHS GM Patient Services Team.
