Request
Please could I confirm the procedure to initiate lebrikizumab, upadacitinib, tralokinumab and abrocitinib?
Are doctors able to initiate patients with these products without prior approval?
If so, do GM ICB have a method of tracking the prescribing of these product, to confirm they meet the NICE criteria?
Response
Relevant NICE TA criteria must be met to initiate treatment with lebrikizumab, upadacitinib, tralokinumab and abrocitinib. Trusts must follow recommendations included in the Greater Manchester commissioning statement for high cost drugs used in psoriasis and atomic dermatitis:
Commissioning-statement-for-HCDs-for-psoriasis-and-AD-in-adults-under-dermatology-services-in-GM-1.0.pdf
Currently NHS Greater Manchester (NHS GM) does not have prior approval forms in place for these treatments for ICB-commissioned indications.
Current trackers do not facilitate confirmation whether patients meet NICE criteria.
