Please can you supply me with the following information:

• Has your ICB, or any of the places within your ICB, undertaken or supported any biosimilar insulin switch programs (for example, switching patients from NovoRapid to Trurapi)? We are not interested in individual patient switches, only if there have been any managed switch programs.
• If you have not, are there any plans to?
• If you have, can you detail which insulin you switched from and which to, and when this was done?

1) One locality has completed a switch to an insulin biosimilar product, and another has developed a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for switching to an insulin biosimilar. This is just in the process of being implemented there. The other eight localities have not implemented their own processes yet.

2) Of the ten localities, seven have confirmed they are planning to implement an SOP for switching to a biosimilar insulin. Three said they currently have no plans.

3) Both the implemented switch and the other developed SOP are for switching from NovoRapid to Trurapi. There were no other biosimilar insulin switches undertaken.
