CCG/ICB Greater Manchester/Bolton. procedures. in respect of MDT. Meeting LRM, LRP, Appeal panel.

1). are these meetings timed that is, is there a time limit on the meeting and should the person and or their representative be informed prior to the meeting?

2) Can any of the meetings be recorded by the person or their representative with or without consent.? Is the person or their representative informed of this prior to the meeting?

3) Can the person or their representative read the information being read out by the CCG/ICB (that is care records, doctors’ records, social service assessments, etc.) so that they can verify that the records are as up to date as possible and have been fully read out?

4) Can the minutes taken at the meeting be readout at the end of the meeting so that all present can agree that they accurate and sign them?

5) How are the meeting made up of; that is apart from the person or their representative; who are in attendance at: –
the MDT meeting
The LRM. meeting
The LRP. meeting
The Appeal Panel. (at local level for greater Manchester /Bolton)

1) There is no time limit on any of the meetings listed, they usually last approximately 2 hours. The Continuing Healthcare MDT Eligibility Meeting invitation letter informs the individual/representative that the meeting will take approximately 2 hours. LRM invitation letters do not state a time approximation.

2) The meetings can be recorded by the ICB as required/requested. Permission is not granted for the individual/representative to record due to confidentiality, data protection and information governance. Recording is not permitted by the individual/representative without consent.

3) All reports and assessments are read out during the Continuing Healthcare MDT Eligibility Meeting in order for all present to agree they are an accurate reflection of the individuals current care needs. Additional information and updates are gathered and recorded within the Decision Support Tool. If the eligibility decision is appealed by the individual/representative a needs led portrayal document and appeal document are produced which include details of all reports and assessments and these are shared with the individual/representative.

4) The Decision Support Tool is a record of the discussions which have taken place at the Continuing Healthcare MDT Eligibility Meeting and a copy is provided to the individual/representative with the outcome letter. A copy of the Decision Support Tool is not available at the end of the MDT meeting as it requires typing up.

5) The Continuing Healthcare MDT Eligibility Meeting is attended by the relevant professionals outlined in the NHS National Framework for Continuing Healthcare and Funded Nursing Care. The LRM, LRP and Appeal Panel is attended by Senior Nurses from the locality Funded Care Team.
