Under the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to request the following information:
1. Between 1 October 2025 and 12 November 2025, how many practices have raised concerns with your ICB about the impact of their workload and/or patient safety since there has been a contractual requirement to keep online consultation systems on throughout core hours?
2. How many practices has the ICB offered support to since the 1 October online consultation changes?
3. How many practices are you planning to support in the coming weeks and months because of the 1 October online consultation changes?
1. 7 GP Practices have formally expressed their position regarding the changes to the GP Contract for 2025/26. Specifically, those coming into force from 1 October 2025, which mandate the availability of online consultation tools during core hours for routine, non-urgent appointment requests, medication queries, and administrative requests.
2. Support has been offered to all 406 GP practices to support implementation of the new digital and online consultation changes. This has been through a range of support offers such as webinars, workshops and direct support offers from NHS Greater Manchester (NHS GM) digital facilitators and the newly established Peer Ambassadors to support general practice embed modern general practice.
3. Ongoing support is available to all GP practices as detailed above, since the 1 October 2025, 69 GP practices have requested further support to help implement a modern general practice approach, including online consultation. NHS GM digital facilitators are already engaging with these practices and supporting their specific requirements.
