Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I am requesting the following information regarding current ADHD service provision:

 

  1. Current Waiting Lists and Demand
  • Current number of people waiting for ADHD assessment (broken down by adults/children)
  • Average waiting time from referral to assessment (current data)
  • Longest current wait time for ADHD assessment
  • Number of referrals received monthly for ADHD assessment (last 12 months data)
  • Number of assessments completed monthly (last 12 months data)

 

  1. Service Providers and Contracts
  • List of all NHS providers delivering ADHD assessment services in your area
  • List of all Right to Choose providers currently accepting referrals from your ICB
  • Contract values and duration for each ADHD service provider
  • Service specifications for ADHD assessment and treatment contracts
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for each contract

 

  1. Capacity and Workforce
  • Current funded capacity for ADHD assessments per month
  • Number of clinical staff (WTE) providing ADHD assessments
  • Details of any service restrictions (e.g., age limits, geographical restrictions)
  • Plans for expanding capacity in 2025/26

 

  1. Clinical Pathways
  • Current clinical pathways for ADHD assessment (adults and children)
  • Shared care agreements/protocols with primary care

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (Block core secondary care mental health contract, rolling 1 year. Funding part of block)
Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust (Block core secondary care mental health contract, rolling 1 year. Funding part of block)
Optimise – 25/26 value 1-year contract. Includes ASD also, therefore have not provided value.
Edgworth Medical Practice – 25/26 value based on unit price (see the table below) – 1-year contract

The new NHS GM service specification is going to be launched imminently and will be available via the NHS GM website or Find a Tender

Edgworth Medical Practice
• 95% of referrals triaged within 2 weeks of referral.
• 100% of patients prescribed stimulant medication receive full physical health screening prior to initiation.
• 100% of patients with clinical indicators receive ECGs pre-treatment.
• >90% satisfaction on service user feedback.
• Use of validated tools (e.g., ADHD-RS, CGI-S) to measure symptom severity and response.
• Full service move onto EMIS by March 2026.

NHS GM does not hold this information; therefore, it will be necessary to contact the provider organisations for the information you seek.
Details of any service restrictions (e.g., age limits, geographical restrictions) All NHS GM services are provided to individuals who are registered with a GP practice within the NHS GM authority area
Plans for expanding capacity in 2025/26
There are no plans to expand current capacity in 25/26

Shared care agreements/protocols with primary care
Shared care agreements/protocols with primary care are developed and applied in line with the Greater Manchester Medicines Management Group (GMMMG) shared care protocols. These set out how prescribing and monitoring responsibilities may be transferred between specialist services and primary care and are approved centrally by GMMMG. Post-diagnostic support services available
Post-diagnostic support is currently delivered under block contracts with providers. Details of this support would need to be obtained directly from the providers listed in Q2
Medication initiation and monitoring arrangements
Medication initiation and monitoring arrangements are determined by the relevant commissioned providers in accordance with national guidance, local clinical pathways, and GMMMG recommendations. Specific arrangements may vary by service and would need to be confirmed with the providers identified in Q2
