FOI 2026/1616

Reference FOI 2026/1616
Description ADHD Pathway
Date Requested 19/02/2026
Date Replied 24/02/2026
Category LDA Transformation

North Central London ICB are currently reviewing the Adult ADHD Pathway in our area. We are considering options for potentially implementing an ADHD single point of access/triage function to help manage all ADHD referrals. We are also looking at a possible clinical threshold for assessment. We would love to learn about what this looks like in other areas outside of London.

We would be most grateful for a response to the below questions –

  1.  Do you have a clinical threshold for determining whether an individual will receive an ADHD assessment and if so, please can you share it with us?
  2. Do you operate a single point of access or triage service that manages all ADHD assessment referrals? If yes, can you please share details of the model?
  3. Do you commission any support services for patients either with ADHD or waiting for an assessment? If yes, please outline what these offers are.
  4. Would you be happy to have a 30-minute teams meeting with NCL ICB commissioners to discuss the above in more detail. If yes, please provide a contact name and email address for us to get in touch.

  1. NHS Greater Manchester (NHS GM) does not have a threshold for determining whether an individual can access an NHS funded assessment, however, this is due to be put in place from July 2026. All relevant documents are currently part of a tender process, so are not being shared more widely.
  2. NHS GM do not have a single point of entry across the system
  3. NHS GM does not currently commission any additional support programs for people on the pathway, but has an intention to commission additional non-medical support from April 2026
  4. NHS GM would be happy to discuss their plans further. The contact for this would be Chris Pimlott (Head of Strategic Mental Health Commissioning).
