I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Please could you provide a list of all GP Federations which operate under your Integrated Care Board? We have been advised by NHS England that this information would be held at the ICB level rather than centrally.

If possible, I would like the list to include:

• The name of each GP Federation
• The geographical area or ICB area they operate within
• Any contact details held, such as websites or generic contact emails

I have looked online and reviewed some data; however, it has not been sufficient. I have also tried using the NHS England ODS portal, but many GP Federations do not appear there. For example, searching for ‘Islington GP Federation’ did not return any results, so the ODS portal does not appear to be a suitable source for this information.

I have seen a past FOI request submitted under Cheshire & Merseyside ICB on September 2nd, 2022, which requested similar information. I have attached this for reference.

If any part of this request is unclear, or if providing the full information would exceed cost limits, please let me know and I would be happy to refine the request.

There is no clear definition of GP Federation. Below is listed those organisations identified within Greater Manchester as operating as a GP Federation.

However, it should be noted that a number of Primary Care Networks have established incorporated legal entities, which may be considered to be ‘Federations’. Similarly there are a number of ‘at-scale’ providers of GP services who hold multiple primary medical care contracts, GP Out of Hours contracts and contracts for population-based services.
