I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding the closure of the phlebotomy clinic in Altrincham.

Specifically, I would be grateful if you could provide the following information:

1. The documented reasons for the decision to close the Altrincham phlebotomy clinic.
2. Copies of any reports, business cases, board papers, briefing notes, or correspondence that informed or supported this decision.
3. A copy of the Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) undertaken in relation to this decision.
4. Details of any consultation carried out with patients, residents, staff, or other stakeholders prior to the closure.
5. Any data or analysis used to assess the impact of the closure on patients, including elderly residents, disabled patients, and those without access to private transport.

If any of this information is already publicly available, I would be grateful if you could direct me to the relevant webpage or publication.

If my request exceeds the appropriate cost limit, please advise me on how it may be refined to remain within statutory limits.

Phlebotomy services commissioned by NHS Greater Manchester continue to be delivered by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust in Altrincham.

We understand however that services delivered by The Christie Charity have been delivering a phlebotomy clinic from Altrincham Health and Wellbeing Centre but have recently announced that they will be closing this service and relocating to Moya Cole Hospice in Cheadle from 1st April 2026. This service is not an NHS commissioned service.
