Questions:

I wished to enquire about the expired GMMG CMPA guidance.

When this is being renewed, who will be involved in the group reviewing and rewriting guidance and timescales.

I write in response to your Freedom of Information request, received by NHS Greater Manchester today.

In line with the Freedom of Information Act, section 45 Code of Practice, paragraphs 2.8 and 2.9, to be able to process your request and provide you with the correct information, I would be grateful if you could clarify the following:

1. Please can you confirm that by “GMMG CMPA guidance”, are you referring to Greater Manchester Medicines Management Group (GMMMG) Cow’s Milk Protein Allergy Guidance?

Clarity Received 11 March 2026:

It is these guidelines that have long expired – I appreciate it may be different now with ICB changes etc since 2020. GMMMG CMPA Guidance as you refer to.

1. The Greater Manchester Medicines Management Group (GMMMG) CMPA guidance is recognised as being out of date and is planned for review and update. Initial scoping work has commenced.
2. The review will be undertaken through a multidisciplinary working group with representation from across Greater Manchester. This is expected to include:

• secondary care clinicians
• general practitioners
• dietitians
• pharmacists

The aim is to ensure that the updated guidance reflects current clinical practice and local commissioning arrangements.

3. At present, a confirmed timeline for completion of the updated guidance has not been established but is being worked on.
