I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 relating to the commissioning and delivery of Lung Health Check / Lung Cancer Screening programmes within your organisation’s area of responsibility.

Please provide responses to the questions below. If any part of the information is not held by your organisation, I would be grateful if you could confirm this and, where possible, indicate which organisation may hold the relevant information.

Programme Existence and Delivery

  1. Do you currently operate a Lung Health Check / Lung Cancer Screening programme?
  2. Is the programme delivered:
    • Directly by the NHS, or
    • By a third‑party / private sector provider? If so, who?

Scanning and Equipment

  1. If the programme is delivered directly by the NHS, has CT scanning equipment been purchased to support delivery of the programme?
  2. How is CT scanning capacity delivered as part of the programme:
    • In‑house,
    • Via mobile units, or
    • Via a third‑party provider?

Contractual Information

  1. What is the contract start date for the Lung Health Check / Lung Cancer Screening programme?
  2. What is the contract end date (or expected end date, if applicable)?
  3. Who is the responsible officer or programme director for the programme?

Funding

  1. What is the total funding allocated to Lung Health Checks / Lung Cancer Screening in your area for the current financial year?
  2. What is the source of this funding (for example: NHS England, Integrated Care Board, Cancer Alliance, or other)?

Commissioning Responsibility

  1. Which organisation is the commissioning body for the programme?
    • NHS England
    • Integrated Care Board (ICB)
    • Cancer Alliance
    • Other (please specify)

Programme Footprint and Delivery Model

  1. At what level is the programme commissioned and delivered:
    • ICB level,
    • Trust level,
    • Place / locality level, or
    • A combination of the above?

Future Plans

  1. Are there any current plans to expand the programme footprint or change the delivery model within the next 12–24 months?

Integrated Screening

  1. In light of any recent or planned ICB mergers or footprint changes, are there plans to develop an integrated screening programme (for example, combining lung screening with other screening pathways)?
