This is a freedom of information request for NHS Greater Manchester ICB.

Please could you tell me:

  1. How many complaints about GP practices that the ICB received in:
  2. 2025
  3. 2024
  4. 2023
  5. 2022
  6. 2021
  7. 2020
  8. 2019

 

  1. How many complaints were received about each GP practice in the ICB in 2025.

If this information is not readily available/will take too long to collate, please let me know at your earliest convenience and ideally we can discuss how to make the request more manageable.

NHS Greater Manchester only became responsible for the handling of GP complaints from 1 July 2023. Prior to this the service was the responsibility of NHS England (NHSE), so any data prior to 1 July 2023 will need to be obtained from them. It should be noted that the following numbers only relate to complaints submitted about the GP practices to NHS Greater Manchester. They do not include complaints which were submitted to and dealt with directly by the practices themselves.

NHS Greater Manchester (NHS GM) does hold the information requested however, due to the low numbers involved (where patient data is 5 or less <5) we consider this to be exempt under section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 as the disclosure of this information may lead to the identification of individuals. This exemption is not subject to the public interest test.
