I am writing under the Freedom of Information Act to request the following information:

1. The number of patients readmitted into hospital following giving birth between 1 Jan 2020 and 4 May 2026

• Please provide this information broken down by month.

2. The number of patients admitted into hospital with symptoms of a retained placenta following giving birth between 1 Jan 2020 and 4 May 2026

• Please provide this information broken down by month.

3. The number of inpatient births within the health board between 1 Jan 2020 and 4 May 2026

• Please provide this information broken down by month.

1. NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board (NHS GM) does not hold the level of data for this time period on record. Therefore, it will be necessary for you to contact the provider organisations directly for the information you seek. In line with Section 16 (advise and assist) of the FOI Act 2000. NHS GM would be able to provide the information outlined below, should you wish to receive it.

NHS GM holds data for the following metric for the time period requested:

• Number of Women readmitted to same Obstetric unit within 30 days of delivery

However the data is held in an annualised format, NHS GM would be unable to provide a month-by-month breakdown for this time period as per the request.

2. NHS GM does not hold this level of data specific to reasons for readmission following birth.  Therefore, it will be necessary for you to direct your request to the individual maternity providers for the information you seek.
