I am writing to request an Excel or CSV file containing all active GP practices & Gateways across Greater Manchester. If available, we would be grateful if the dataset could include:

• Practice/Gateway name
  • Practice/Gateway address
  • Practice/Gateway telephone number
  • Public administrative email address (for example, reception, administration, or practice manager email addresses where held)
  • Practice/Gateway website URL

Contact details for the GP practices with NHS Greater Manchester can be found on the NHS Greater Manchester website via the following link https://gmintegratedcare.org.uk/find-a-service/ however, please note that not all practices use a generic email address.

I can confirm that NHS Greater Manchester does hold a list of GP and Practice Manager individual email addresses in the Greater Manchester area. However, we believe that this information is exempt from disclosure under section 40 (2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 as it constitutes personal data where disclosure would be in breach of the Data Protection Act 2018. In addition, GP’s and Practice Managers have provided their email addresses (which includes their names, as personal data) to NHS Greater Manchester to provide direct communication channels between themselves for official business reasons. There is an expectation that these email addresses are not intended for release into the public domain or to provide a general contact list for public or business use.

As section 40 (2) is an absolute exemption there is no duty to consider disclosure in the public interest. They are set out in Part II of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
