I am writing to make a formal request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding the implementation of NICE Technology Appraisal 1152 (Semaglutide for managing overweight and obesity with cardiovascular disease) within NHS Greater Manchester ICB.

As the statutory 90-day implementation deadline for this mandate expired on 5th August 2026, please provide the following recorded information:

1. The Policy/Pathway Document:A copy of the finalized clinical commissioning pathway or implementation policy currently active within NHS Greater Manchester for prescribing semaglutide under TA1152.
2. Meeting Minutes:All minutes, action logs, briefing notes, or emails from the Greater Manchester Medicines Management Group (GMMMG) or ICB executive board since May 2026 where the rollout, deferral, or resource barriers of TA1152 were discussed.
3. Prescribing Data:The total number of individual patient prescriptions funded by the ICB for semaglutide 2.4mg specifically for secondary cardiovascular prevention under TA1152 since 5th August 2026.
4. Service Contracts:Details of any active service level agreements (SLAs) or contracts established by the ICB with Tier 3/Tier 4 specialized weight management services or primary care networks to deliver the mandatory “wraparound care” required alongside this medication.

1. NHS Greater Manchester has not yet finalised the commissioning policy for TA1152. 2. All GMMMG approved minutes are publicly available and can be accessed via the GMMMG website GMMMG Meetings – GMMMG. GMMMG action log entries relevant to this request are provided below.  

 The GMMMG briefing, Incretin therapy update (referenced in response to question 1) is also relevant to this request. No further GMMMG emails or briefings have been identified that record discussion of the rollout, deferral or resource barriers relating to TA1152.

Since May 2026, no ICB Executive Board minutes, action logs, emails or briefing notes held by NHS Greater Manchester, have been identified that record discussion of the rollout, deferral or resource barriers relating to TA1152.

3. NHS Greater Manchester does not hold this information. Prescribing and dispensing data is publicly available through the NHS Business Services Authority; however, NHSBSA prescribing data does not capture the clinical reason or indication for which a medicine was prescribed. 4. Mandatory wraparound care is not specified as a requirement of NICE TA1152, and NHS Greater Manchester does not hold any active service level agreements or contracts for the delivery of wraparound care linked to semaglutide prescribing under NICE TA1152.
