1 & 2. The Freedom of Information Act requires NHS GM to consider requests on an “applicant blind” basis, and therefore we are obliged to provide information as a response to a requestor irrespective of who the request came from. As such, we are not able to provide patient specific information as to the costs of episodes of care.

In addition, where patient level information it provided to NHS GM, it is done so on a pseudonymised basis, meaning NHS GM cannot identify an individual patient from the information provided. As such, NHS GM does not hold the information to enable it to answer questions 1 and 2.

  1. A table was provided in this response – please contact nhsgm.foi@nhs.net for this table.
  2. In line with NHS GM’s 2026/27 contract negotiation and planning, the provider’s service specification, quality requirements and reporting requirements are under review.

The provider will be paid under The National Tariff Payment System for services commissioned.

  1. There are established contractual remedial processes for addressing substandard care, as set out in NHSE Technical Guidance and the General Conditions. These include the issuance of a Contract Performance Notice and the implementation of Remedial Action Plans. Please refer to the mechanisms outlined in the NHS Standard Contract Technical Guidance and General Conditions which can be found at the following link NHS England » 2026/27 NHS Standard Contract
  2. We are unable to provide the information because the cost of complying with your request would exceed the appropriate limit set out in Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 however with regards to the provider in question the ICB can confirm they have not used those mechanisms
