People in Greater Manchester are being encouraged to get tested for HIV and STIs

Greater Manchester HIV Testing Week (November 25-30 2024) is raising awareness of HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

Organised by the PaSH Partnership, it is sharing key messages about testing for, treating and preventing STIs.

This week isn’t just for a few people – it’s for all of us. We’re calling on you, your friends, your family and your community to get involved. Whether it’s sharing the message on social media or just spreading the word, every action counts.

Why do we need GM testing week?

Greater Manchester is part of the fast-track cities initiative. The global partnership is committed to ending all new transmissions, late HIV diagnoses and eventually new diagnoses of HIV by 2030.

The latest HIV data shows that the number of heterosexual men and women newly diagnosed in England with HIV has increased by more than 30 per cent since 2022. The steepest rise is in ethnic minority heterosexuals, rising by 45 per cent compared to the previous year.

Get involved

Get tested and encourage those in your life to get tested too. By getting involved, you’re not only looking after yourself but also contributing to the well-being of our entire community.

Different ways to get tested for HIV and STIs

  • Book an appointment to get tested in person
  • Order a rapid HIV self-test to do at home
  • Order an STI test kit to ‘click and collect’ to do at home
  • Order a free HIV or STI test to your home

How do you book an appointment or get your kit?
