The ‘Ask About Asthma’ campaign is back to help you manage your asthma.
It’s the end of the summer holidays when we see a rise in asthma attacks when children and young people return to school or college.
If you have asthma, there are some simple things you can do to make a big difference to how you manage your asthma.
Good asthma control means no symptoms. These four steps will help you live your best life:
- get an asthma action plan in place. Children with an asthma action plan are much less likely to have to go to hospital for their asthma if they have a plan in place.
- understand how to use inhalers correctly. Getting the inhaler technique right with a spacer or facemask is one of the most important things you can do.
- schedule an asthma review every year and after every attack.
- consider air pollution and its impact on lung health – every asthma conversation should include indoor and outdoor air pollution.
Check out of ‘childhood asthma’ page for more information and resources to help manage your asthma.
Your GP practice or asthma nurse would be the best place to start if you have any questions or need further support.
