Our second Greater Manchester Live Well event was held on Tuesday 21 May 2024.
The day was centred around a key question: “How can we ensure communities have collective control over local wealth and assets, so they can build their own path to Live Well?”.
The agenda was packed with opportunities to connect, create and share learning across people and places at the heart of the Live Well movement, having a say and shaping the future together.
The event brought together people and organisations creating community wealth, funders doing things differently and commissioners from different sectors. It was all about sharing best practice and learning about growing community wealth, ownership, and opportunity – and what it takes to enable it to thrive.
We heard from lots of brilliant community organisations about what they are doing to support people’s wealth, health, and wellbeing. The Elephant’s Trail community reporters made a video about what they found.
Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham reiterated his support of the growing Live Well movement for community-led health and wellbeing in his recent manifesto.
