Volunteers’ Week 2024 runs from June 3 to 9 and, to celebrate, throughout the month our “Make Monday Matter” series is looking at the benefits of volunteering.

We’re also showcasing the work of some of Greater Manchester’s fantastic volunteers who give up their free time to help others and make a difference to their local communities.

And if you are inspired, you can find out more about how to start volunteering and the vast range of opportunities available.

Volunteering is a great way to give back to society but it is also good for you personally, and has many benefits for your physical and mental health.

It is great for your CV and can help you to develop your skills if you are looking for work, returning to the workplace or want to improve your career prospects.

Volunteering can also give you a regular routine if you are retired or not working.

The good news is that no matter what your age, and how much free time you have, there’s lots of ways to fit volunteering into your life
