Developing our People and Culture Strategy for our health and care workforce
Over recent months work has begun to establish the building blocks of our People and Culture Strategy for 2022-25. This strategy will build on the progress made over the last six years and set out our shared ambition and aims for our Greater Manchester health and care workforce for the next three years. The strategy will support the delivery of the NHS People Plan and the delivery of the Greater Manchester health and care strategy, which is also currently in development.
Delivery of the People and Culture Strategy will be supported by other targeted strategies such as primary care, community and social care, as well as work at a locality and organisation level.
Once completed, this strategy will also continue to be closely aligned with the broader Greater Manchester Strategy, overseen by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
So far, the development of the strategy has been shaped by experience of delivering a system workforce strategy over the last six years, external evaluation of areas of strength and weakness and engagement with our people and culture community through the development of the NHS GM People and Culture Function. The next phase of the engagement process is to share a first look at the framework for the strategy; including ambition, aims and priority areas.
You can have your say on the framework by completing our survey, which will be open until 16 September 2022.
The next step will be to review all the feedback and comments we have received, and develop a first draft of the strategy in October.
