We’re keen to hear from people living and working in Oldham about their experiences with local healthcare services.
Oldham is just five miles from Manchester city centre. It has over 241,100 residents but no household is more than two miles from the Peak District National Park. Oldham is also home to the worlds first baby born via IVF at Royal Oldham Hospital.
Every day, thousands of people in Greater Manchester receive care from our health and care professionals. But as waiting lists grow, many residents may struggle to access some services or the support available.
As part of the ‘Fit for the Future’ engagement programme, you will be able to voice your thoughts on the issues the NHS faces. Tell us what’s important to you and what you think should be prioritised. As well as what you think can be improved, where to try and save money and what things should be considered when making decisions about local services.
Oldham is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of its residents. This is done by promoting healthy eating and physical activity, making the most of the borough’s countryside.
Barbara Brownridge, Councillor at Oldham Council, said:
“This is an opportunity for us to hear from our residents about what matters most to them. There are lots of ways residents can get involved and it is quick and easy to sign up on the NHS Greater Manchester’s website.
“I am passionate about improving the services in Oldham for residents to receive the best possible care. As well as putting services and plans in place to prevent ill health in future”.
