A new video filmed with local health services encourages people to choose the right service to help services run smoothly this winter.
Get to Know Where to Go
Get to Know Where to Go is our campaign that helps people to choose the right service. And to get the right treatment sooner for their physical and mental health.
There are many services out there that can help you. From self-care, to NHS 111, to primary care services – such as GP practices, pharmacies dentists, opticians, and urgent care.
A&E departments (also known as emergency departments or casualty) are there for serious or life-threatening health conditions only.
If you are ever unsure about what service you need – start with NHS 111 online or give them a call. An NHS 111 SignVideo service is available for members of the Deaf community.
Visit our Get to Know Where to Go pages for more information and contact details.
There’s no place like home.
Our video also shines a light on the importance of getting home as soon as possible if you are ever admitted to hospital.
If you do get admitted to hospital, a treatment plan will be developed. This includes information about what you need to do when it is time for you to leave.
Making sure you get collected on time when you are ready to leave is a huge help to your hospital. When you go home on time, it means they can start to help the next person who needs to be treated. Services will run more smoothly.
If you or a loved one does get admitted to hospital, our hospital discharge page has all the information and advice you’ll need to start preparing to get back home – the best place to continue your recovery.
