Earlier this year, NHS Greater Manchester teamed up with Mike Toolan from Hits Radio, to ask the public if they know where to go when it comes to getting the right healthcare. Mike Toolan asked the Greater Manchester public, “do you know where to go for conditions like a sore throat, sprained limb, urinary tract infection or toothache?”
We wanted to know if the people of Manchester knew what their options were when dealing with minor illnesses and injuries.
You can watch the full video with Mike here on our YouTube channel.
Get to Know Where To Go
We all know the healthcare system can face additional pressure over the winter period. So, it’s more important than ever that people can access the right healthcare in the right place. This means patients get the help they need faster, and health services can provide help for the people that need it most.
The ‘Get to Know Where to Go’ campaign aims to raise awareness about all the healthcare services available to the public. From pharmacies and urgent dental services; to walk-in centres and urgent care; GPs and NHS 111. Many people are unsure of where to turn for everyday health issues, so this offers helpful tips and advice to guide people on where to go.
Our Get to know where to go page helps you understand which service you should use for your symptoms.
You can use the buttons on the page to find out where to go for minor illnesses, eye and dental problems, mental health support, urgent help and more.
You can also download a handy information booklet. It shows the range of NHS services available to you and your family. When you’re not feeling well, or need treatment straight away, it will help you know where to go.
If you’re not sure what to do or where to go, go to NHS 111 online. It’s available 24/7, 365 days a year with a SignVideo and Text Relay service available for accessibility.
Accessing the right healthcare at the right time is the best way to look after yourself and support our healthcare system this winter.
