NHS Greater Manchester is warning residents to expect a significant impact on services this month when junior doctors and consultants go on strike. Only use 999 or the emergency department (A&E) if it’s life-threatening; use NHS 111 to get help and support and be signposted to the most appropriate service.

Junior doctors at all NHS hospitals across Greater Manchester are planning to strike from 6.59am on Wednesday June 14th until 7am on Saturday June 17th. This will have a significant impact on services.

Industrial action is taking place 7am Monday March 13th to 7am Thursday March 16th. Staff have worked hard to minimise disruption, though some impact is inevitable. The public are urged to choose the right services for their need including walk-in centres, pharmacists, opticians, dentists, and mental health helplines. People should use NHS 111 Online as the first option for help and support, unless an emergency or life-threatening situation in which case use 999. Patients asked to attend all appointments unless contacted not to attend.
