NHS Greater Manchester is helping residents get to know where to go for medical help during the junior doctors' industrial action

People in Greater Manchester are urged to use NHS 111 Online for all non-emergency healthcare needs during the next strike action in the NHS.

Health and wellbeing professionals – including physiotherapists and pharmacists – working in GP practices across Greater Manchester are speaking out to raise awareness of the different roles that now form part of the GP practice team.

NHS and care staff thanked for their hard work and the public for their support in choosing the right service when looking for help and support. Residents encouraged to keep playing their part by enjoying the festive season sensibly and wherever possible, practicing self-care; using their local pharmacy; avoiding mixing with flu and Covid like symptoms and using NHS 111 Online for advice.

Greater Manchester residents advised to only call 999 or attend Accident and Emergency Departments if a condition is a life-threatening emergency.

As our services report significant pressures, we ask the public to use NHS 111 Online to be signposted to the correct service for them. Accessing the right care at the right time means that the NHS can be there for people who need us this winter.
