The Children’s Community Nursing Team provides care, treatment, education, and support for children and young people with a wide range of health conditions.

Support and treatments include:

  • Acute minor illnesses, including viral wheeze, chest infections, temperature, ENT infections, and gastroenteritis
  • Post-operative care and wound care
  • Burns and scald management
  • Respiratory condition management
  • Intravenous (IV) antibiotics
  • Constipation and eczema management
  • Oxygen therapy support
  • Oncology and chemotherapy care
  • Epilepsy and asthma management
  • Complex healthcare support
  • Gastrostomy and nasogastric tube (NGT) care
  • Tracheostomy care and support
  • Administration of subcutaneous and intramuscular medications
  • Training for families, carers, and professionals
  • Provision of specialist equipment
  • End-of-life care and support
