The Children’s Community Nursing Team provides care, treatment, education, and support for children and young people with a wide range of health conditions.
Support and treatments include:
- Acute minor illnesses, including viral wheeze, chest infections, temperature, ENT infections, and gastroenteritis
- Post-operative care and wound care
- Burns and scald management
- Respiratory condition management
- Intravenous (IV) antibiotics
- Constipation and eczema management
- Oxygen therapy support
- Oncology and chemotherapy care
- Epilepsy and asthma management
- Complex healthcare support
- Gastrostomy and nasogastric tube (NGT) care
- Tracheostomy care and support
- Administration of subcutaneous and intramuscular medications
- Training for families, carers, and professionals
- Provision of specialist equipment
- End-of-life care and support
